Founder and co-Director of 72 Hr Urban Action, cultural planner and curator working on projects in the public realm, discusses the potentials and limitations of rapid forms of collective activism in the city

Biography

Kerem Jehuda Halbrecht is an architect and urban producer. Kerem studied Architecture in the Bezalel Art and Design Academy, Jerusalem. He is the founder the world’s first of 72 Hour Urban Action, first performed in the Bat Yam Biennale of Landscape Urbanism. Since 2010 72HUA created more than 50 interventions with designers and residents in public spaces in Germany, Italy, Israel, Denmark and Turkey. He had presented in institutions such as Harvard Graduate School of Design, The Tel Aviv Museum of Art and MoMA’s PS1. Kerem is also architect and co-founder at The Spaceship (HaHalalit), an independent collaborative work-live space for cultural activities which is a centre of free expression in Tel Aviv since 2007
