Biography

Harald Schoen is leading the unit on transport law at the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection of Germany. Before joining the ministry in 2002, he studied law at the universities of Erlangen and Freiburg. A computer enthusiast, Harald began to specialise in legal issues surrounding information technology and the internet. From 2001 to 2002 he took part in a Master of Laws programme on information technology law jointly organized by the universities of Hanover and Glasgow. In 2012, Harald spent one year working with the Irish Department of Justice. He is particularly interested in how technology influences lawmaking and vice versa.
